THINGS have been a little quieter this week, although I have still attended a few meetings. I’m still keeping my nose to the grindstone, as it were, keeping in touch with plans for future events. Team Cheadle met last Tuesday evening to form a sub-committee to keep on track for some of the events planned for the coming months. On Wednesday I attended the PCC meeting at Church Leigh, where again we are looking to organise events for the coming year. I have been involved with the church and the PCC there for some years, and have got to know many people and have seen many changes.
One such change has been the change in vicars. Joe Cant, our newest vicar and his soon-to-be-bride, Jeanette, are getting married on Saturday and I would like to wish them both congratulations and best wishes for the future. Best wishes also go to Reborn Interiors who celebrated their first year in business on Saturday. Miriam invited customers to help her celebrate with some lovely homemade cupcakes and something nice to drink. The shop is doing very well and customers are very pleased with their purchases. There were also non-alcoholic beverages and nibbles supplied by the Community Champion from Morrison’s, for everyone to enjoy.
My wife and I also visited the newly-opened Al’s Antiques shop – we wish them all the best. After a wonderful performance by Cheadle Academy of Joseph and his Technicolored Dream coat, which was very enjoyable, I am now looking forward to seeing Les Miserables at Painsley. I have been up to Moorlands Radio this week for a chat with Matt Hill, hopefully Cheadle can now receive Moorlands Radio on 103.7. And also attended a meeting of the photography club which was very informative, the group meets at the fire station on Ashbourne road.
Well with plenty of meetings still to attend, that’s it from me, more next week. I can be contacted via the town council clerk at The Lodge in Tean Road or via email: email@example.com
