Cheadle Party In The Park 2017 Community Spirit Last Weekend
Community celebrates Cheadle’s Party in the Park 2017. The weather may not have been the scorcher we hope for each year, but the community spirit shone brightly throughout the annual event.Hosted by Cheadle Town Council and opened by the Mayor of Cheadle, amazing food and as for the main event, four young lads doing flips and tricks on BMX bikes, including two quarter pipes and the most enthusiastic presenter to ever grace the microphone.
The field was lined with a variety of stalls, from handmade crafts and food outlets to charity stalls and many more, guests were able to indulge in just about anything throughout the event. The marquee, also known as the ‘beer tent’ was buzzing from the moment the gates of Tean Road Recreational Ground opened at midday.
Also found in the marquee, was the flower show, hosted by Kingsley and Moorland Fuchsia and Geranium Society, whilst Cheadle Flower Club held a series of classes for all ages. Party-goers were entertained throughout the day, not only by the scheduled attractions which included a falconry display, a sheepdog display and duck herding but by the scheduled performers on stage, made up of CATS who performed a set-list of past and present favourites, as well as local acts and bands.
The range of food on offer was a hit with guests, whether they had a sweet tooth looking for a sugar fix and visited the donut truck, or they fancied some comfort food and joined the queue for a luxury bap from the hog-roast catering tent, there was no disappointment in the food department.
The thrills of Warwick’s Fun Fair entertained those young and old with the mixture of different rides and stalls, including a penalty shootout, a bouncy castle house, the dreaded crazy cage, the waltzers and many more rides.
Hats off to Cheadle Town Council and all involved for a fantastic Party in the Park 2017.
